April 2007 — "We chose to take our dog to Especially for Pets to get groomed, mainly because it is located really close to our house. I was leery about leaving our puppy there, as she had never been groomed before, but the lady on the phone was very reassuring and helpful. We explained about the mats that our dog had (she was a stray before we got her) and the woman said it would cost $53 as a base cost and then if it took extra time to brush the mats out, they might charge more. I thought this was very reasonable. We dropped our puppy off for her appointment at 7am and were greeted by a woman (not the phone woman) with several dogs and she said that we would most likely have to shave our dog... something you just don't do to a collie. We refused and said that we didn't care how much it cost, we wanted the matts out. She made it sound like we would be spending a fortune. Later that afternoon we picked our pup up and she was all groomed, no mats and smelled so great. The best part of it all was that it cost $53! We couldn't believe it. The only thing is, they were supposed to cut her nails and I don't think they did. We will probably go back to Especially for Pets in the future."
